East Eugene encompases the area between Willamette Street and the I-5 freeway, and south of the Willamette River. It includes the University area, home to the University of Oregon and the Northwest Christian College.

The University Area is alive with not only students, but businesses and residential streets, as well. In the immediate vicinity of campus, student housing and rental properties dominate, but farther from the campus you'll find victorian architecture and lovely parks.

The geography of East Eugene is charming, with parks and woods, creeks, wetlands and hills. Many of the houses have a view of
Spencer Butte, which is over 2000 feet high and encompasses 360 acres of forest, and is one of the largest park areas in town. East Eugene is primarily residential, especially as you go farther from downtown.

At the southern-most extreme of the East Eugene area is
Lane Community College, which offers a wide variety of instructional programs including transfer credit programs, professional technical degree and certificate programs.

East Eugene is within the 4-J school District, and is serviced by the following schools:

  • Middle Schools: Roosevelt, Fox Hollow (French Immersion Program), Spencer Butte, Family School
